Agape CottageI travelled a lot last week and wasn’t able to juice as much as normal.

I really missed it, and now I am back at home I’m happy to be reunited with my juicer!  I thought I would share my five favourite juices with you.

Just so you know, I have a candida imbalance so I try to avoid making my juices too loaded with fruit.  You can adjust yours to taste.

I also add loads of lemon and ginger to all my juices, I enjoy the kick.  I’ll leave you to add what works for you.

1. Oldie but goldie

This was my first ever juice recipe.  I remember thinking how weird it was to be drinking my vegetables!

Juice 2 or 3 carrots with a couple of sticks of celery and an apple.  Add some ginger and a squeeze of lemon.

2. Red devil

Sharon Agates at Agape Cottage introduced me to this combo.  It’s one of the few juices I don’t add any ginger as the chilli gives a nice warmth.  Watch out for pink pee!

Juice 2 or 3 raw beets with an orange (I like to peel mine) and a scotch bonnet chilli.  It’s best to remove the seeds and add a small amount of chilli at a time to taste.  I like to add lemon (of course) to give it some zing.

3. Almond and kale smoothie

This is a smoothie rather than a juice.  It sounds a bit weird but it’s from GOOP and it works!

Add one handful of kale, 240ml almond milk, 1 tbsp almond butter, 1 tbsp almonds, 1 pitted date and 1 tbsp coconut oil to a powerful blender, and whizz until completely smooth.  Breakfast in a glass!

4.  Summer special

Another one from GOOP, this time a simple, light summery juice.

Juice a handful of fresh basil (you could also use mint instead) with one cucumber, half a peeled lime and an apple.

5. Green goodness in a glass

This is the one where all the veg in my fridge goes!

I grab whatever we have, usually plenty of dark green leafy’s, some celery, cucumber, romaine or iceberg lettuce and broccoli.  I juice it with an apple, peeled lemon and plenty of ginger.  You can add mint, parsley, basil or lime – whatever flavours you enjoy.

If I’m having it as a meal, I whizz it in the blender with a handful of spinach and half an avocado.  I often add a scoop of greens powder for an extra boost.  Green goodness in a glass!

If you want to add juice to your day, but don’t have a juicer, check out Plenish juice boutique for organic, fresh pressed juices delivered direct to your door!

        That’s beetroot juice Ingredients

        1 small beetroot
        ½ cucumber
        1 cup of pineapple chunks

Remove the top from the beetroot and scrub using water and a stiff vegetable brush to remove any dirt.
Peel or wash the cucumber. If the cucumber is waxed then remove the wax by peeling it.
Slice the pineapple and remove its tough skin.
Cut the fruit and vegetables to fit your juicer.
        Juice and serve.
